The Lake Victoria Environmental ManagementProject (LVEMP) is a multi-discipline and multisectorcomprehensive development programme that was designed to successfully introduce, through implementation, environmentally and socially sustainable economic development to the Lake Victoria Basin. The mission of the project over the long-term is to. enhance economicgrowth and reduce poverty while,at the sametime, maintaining the rich biodiversity andresources base to meet the needs of the presentwithout comproinising the ability of futuregenerations to meet their own needs.
