Artificial Fishing Reefs, Gulf of Mexico, Region IV
Artificial reefs were constructed offshore at Freeport and Galveston, Texas. The Galveston reef was successful in respect to fish usage but not in respect to fisherman usage. The conclusion reached was that the project realized too low a return on the investment.
