Influencia del cultivo del camarón blanco (Litopenaeus schmitti) sobre los ecosistemas costeros

In this work the result of the project “Determination of the environmental impact on aquaculture in the coastal zone" is presented. Where there were sampled more than 28 points. The water quality of the ecosystems is studied around the shrimp farms like coastal lagoons, rivers and the coastal area, where the shrimp farm get the water from, and at the same time the waste water of the process is spilled. The obtained values of the analisis in water and silts give a valuation of the environmental state of the area; revealing that the lagoon Las Playas is in a not well environmental state, (salinity of 47 ppt, DQO between 3,26 and 6,14 mg/L, N-NO3 700 - 900 µg/L, ammonium 36 - 148 µg/L and silicates between the 1600 and 3400 µg/L) and silts (carbon and nitrogen with 1,58% and 1,61%). The direct cause of the problem is the production system of the shrimp farms and the bad location of the water reservoir. Up to now the impact is classified as punctual.
