Introduction to the 4th annual hydrogeology consortium workshop
The purpose of this workshop was to present an overview of thebroad and growing scientific evidence linking water quality declineat Wakulla Spring with land use practices in the region. Theworkshop convened scientific and engineering experts to presentthe current understanding of groundwater and surface water flowpatterns through the Woodville Karst Plain, the sources ofpollution to Wakulla Springs, and explore the applicability andeffectiveness of advanced technologies as solutions to theproblem of degrading spring water quality and clarity. The primarygoal of this workshop was to disseminate this knowledge to localdecision makers and encourage cooperative proactivegovernmental investment in water resource protection programs inthe Woodville Karst Plain basin.
