Compiling data on areas designated as having demarcated fishery rights using the Japan Marine Cadastre.
When thinking about such issues as synthetic use in the coastal areas of Japan, information on demarcated fishery rights areas is one of the necessary pieces of information. The Japan Coast Guard has made public information on areas containing demarcated fishery rights, periods and fishery types based on the Japan Marine Cadastre (JMC), CeisNet and fishery maps. However, the demarcated fishery rights information of the Japan Coast Guard has not always been kept up-to-date. In this paper, we describe how a beginning JMC user can compile data in order to display the latest information on the demarcated fishery rights withthe JMC as the resource.
