Stock and distribution of mussel Crenomytilus grayanus and horse mussel Modiolus kurilensis in the Boysman and Baklan Bays (Peter the Great Gulf, the Sea of Japan)

The distribution of mussel Crenomytilus grayanus and horse mussel Modiolus kurilensis has been studied in the Boysman and Baklan Bays (Peter the Great Gulf, the Sea of Japan) depending on the habitat depths and the type of bottom sediments. Crenomytilus grayanus prevails both on hard and soft substrates. Total stocks of both species are assessed as 2.7 ths tons.
