Динамика нереста балтийского шпрота в 1984 году.

The first cooperative ichthyoplankton survey was carried out on board the research vessels of IfH and BaltNIIRH throughout the sprat spawning area from the 'Bay of Mecklenburg to the Gulf of Finland. Reproduction conditions and regularities in sprat distribution at early stages of ontogenesis were investigated within a vast sea area. The tendency towards an increase in sprat abundance at early stages of development was established. The most intensive sprat spawning was noted in Bornholm area: 73 % of the total amount of eggs was spawned here in May. By the amount of eggs within the spawning area, absolute size of sprat spawning populations for Subdivisions 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 32 was determined in May, and for Subdivisions 25, 26, 28, 29 in June, and constituted 24,346 • 10 6 and 32,746 • 10 6 individuals, respectively.
