Primeiro registro de Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby (Hemiptera: Alyrodidae) no Estado do Acre.
Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby é um inseto polífago, considerado uma séria praga dos citros e encontra-se amplamente disseminado no Brasil. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo registrar a primeira ocorrência de A. woglumi no estado do Acre. Foram coletadas folhas de limoeiro infestadas, cultivado em jardim residencial urbano no município de Rio Branco e levadas ao Laboratório de Entomologia da Embrapa Acre para identificação. O inseto foi confirmado como A. woglumi, espécie que ainda não havia sido registrada no estado do Acre. A partir dessa constatação, esforços devem ser despendidos visando o monitoramento dos plantios, especialmente citrícolas, para se conhecer a distribuição real da praga no Estado, bem como suas plantas hospedeiras. A partir dessas informações poderão ser traçadas estratégias que visem mitigar possíveis efeitos negativos na produção, a fim de evitar impacto econômico nas regiões fruticultoras. Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby is a polyphagous insect, considered a serious citrus pest and is widely disseminated in Brazil. This study aimed to record the first occurrence of A. woglumi in Acre state, Brazil. Infested lemon leaves were collected, cultivated in an urban residential garden in the municipality of Rio Branco and transported to Embrapa Acre?s Laboratory of Entomology for identification. The insect was confirmed as A. woglumi, a species that had not yet been recorded in Acre. Based on this finding, efforts should be made to monitor plantations, especially citrus, in order to know the real distribution of the pest in the state, as well as its host plants. Further strategies would be established to mitigate possible negative effects on production, in order to avoid economic impact on fruit producing regions.
