Criteria used in the specification document on the use for geographical indications of fine wines in Brazil.

The Industrial Property Law number 9.279, from 1996, established the Brazilian legislation on geographical indications (GI). Normative Instruction number 25/2013 of the National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI establishes the conditions for the registration of geographical indications, whether in modality of ?Indicação de Procedência? (IP) or ?Denominação de Origem? (DO).
