Wildfire Risk to Communities Population Density (Image Service)
This dataset is the Population Density (PopDen) raster for the United States. It is part of the data publication Wildfire Risk to Communities: Spatial datasets of wildfire risk for populated areas in the United States. PopDen is a nationwide raster of population density measured in people per square kilometer. It reflects 2018 estimates of population counts from the U.S. Census Bureau, combined with building footprint data from Microsoft (version 1.1), LandScan where building footprint data were unavailable, and land cover data from LANDFIRE.<div><br></div><div><a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/rds/archive/Catalog/RDS-2020-0060" rel="nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metadata and Downloads.</a><br></div><div><br></div><div><b>Note:�</b>Pixel values in this image service have been altered from the original raster dataset due to data requirements in web services. The service is intended primarily for data visualization.
