HoneySweet and Stanley RNAseq fruit and leaf from Europe and US

RNA expression was sequenced from ripe fruit and leaf tissue in transgenic 'HoneySweet' and standard 'Stanley' plums located both in the United States and in Europe. Several of the 'Stanley' plums were naturally infected with Plum Pox Virus. This allowed a comparison of gene expression between infected 'Stanley', non-infected 'Stanley', with the Plum Pox Virus resistant 'HoneySweet' naturally exposed and not to the presence of the virus. Goal of the project was to determine the effect of the transgenes on RNA expression in comparison to a tolerant cultivar 'Stanley'.
