The Progress for Genome Resource of Ex-Types & well-authenticated Phytophthora species using Ultra-long-read Sequencing for Comparative genomics

The reference genomes are important to increase the level of precision in projects leading to more efficient diagnostic applications. MinION nanopore ultra-long read Third Generation High-throughput Sequencing (HTS) technology is being increasingly used for the implementation of genome sequences, and other applications in biological sciences. Phytophthora with 188 species contains numerous important plant pathogens with many of regulatory concern. Using specimens from the Ex-types (ET), and well-authenticated specimens (SE) (for those which Ex-type lost in collections) we have produced draft genomes for Phytophthora species are: P. boehmeriae SE, P. constricta ET, P. macrochlamydospora ET, P. quininea ET. This information can be used for metagenomics, gene based comparative genomics as well as for diagnostics.
