Pseudomonas fluorescens A506 genome sequencing

Pseudomonas fluorescens A506 was isolated from a leaf of a pear tree in California, USA (PMID:16349371), and is a commercial biological control agent used primarily for the suppression of fire blight on pear and apple, which is caused by the plant pathogenic bacterium Erwinia amylovora (PMID:18944382). P. fluorescens A506 is a model organism for studies on biological control of plant diseases and the ecology of commensal bacteria inhabiting aerial plant surfaces (PMID: 18943060, 20839962).
