Megasphaera stantonii strain:AJH120 Genome sequencing
A novel Megasphaera strain was isolated from the cecum of a chicken. Other members of the genus are known butyrate-producers, making them attractive probiotic candidates. This organism was sequenced and characterized phenotypically to determine the strain's potential as a probiotic in poultry.
