Dataset of Guillemot et al. (2022) Small and slow is safe: on the drought tolerance of tropical tree species, Global Change Biology

This dataset contains measurements of ten functional traits describing drought resistance, the fast-slow and stature-recruitment trade-off axes in 601 tropical woody species. Data were obtained from a screening of the literature, conducted in March 2021. The functional traits describing drought tolerance are the turgor loss point (TLP) and the xylem resistance to cavitation (P50). The functional traits describing the fast-slow axis are leaf mass per area (LMA), leaf nitrogen concentration (leaf_N), leaf phosphorus concentration (leaf_P) and wood density (wood_density). The functional traits describing the stature-recruitment axis are maximum height (max_height), seed mass (seed_mass) and leaf size (leaf_size). Leaf habit (leaf_habit) was also documented. This dataset is presented in Guillemot et al. (2022) Small and slow is safe: on the drought tolerance of tropical tree species, Global Change Biology
