The future of natural oil-based polyols is linked to the permanent approach that seeks to replace petroleum-based components in the polyurethane industry. The last increase in prices of fossil crude oil has encouraged many international players to become interested in it; therefore, substantial investments have been made in research and development regarding vegetable oils. Since there are better technologies available today, the opportunities for natural oils have increased.
