Mycelial growth of Pleurotus and Auricularia in agroindustrial effluents

Mycelial growth of Pleurotus ostreatus and Auricularia fuscosuccinea was compared in the following liquid media: 1.Water from soaking maize (WSM), 2.Water extract from coffee pulp (WCP), 3.Sorghum infusion (SI), 4.Cheese whey (CW), 5.Water from washing coffee beans (WCB), and 6.Synthetic glucose yeast extract medium (SGE). The best growth of both species was recorded in SGE, producing 3.90 and 3.68 g/l of biomass, respectively, after 168 h of culture in flasks. The best medium for P. ostreatus was CW, while that for A. fuscosuccinea was WCB
