Description of the life stages of cephalonomia stephanoderis (hymenoptera: bethylidae), a parasitoid of hypothenemus hampei (coleoptera: scolytidae)
Cephalonomia stephanoderis Betrem, un ectoparasitoide de prepupas y pupas de la broca del café Hypotheneinus hampei (Ferrari) en Africa, fue introducido a México para el control de esta plaga. Se ofrece por primera vez una descripción completa de los estados inmaduros y adultos del parasitoide. Se confirmó la existencia de al menos tres estadios larvales. Cephalonomia stephanoderis Betrem, a prepupal and pupal ectoparasitoid of the coffee berry borer Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari) in Africa, was introduced into México for the biological control of this pest. A full description of the parasitoid immature stages and adult is given here for the first time. The existence of at least three larvas instars was confirmed.
