Classificacao de propriedades e municípios cafeeiros da regiao sul do estado de Minas Gerais, quanto a estruturas e procedimentos, visando a preservacao da qualidade do cafe

The coffee quality greatly depends on the way coffee fruits are harvested and processed. Fourteen counties located at Southern Region of Minas Gerais State were studied and presented different scores concerned to structures and behavior aiming to preservate the coffee quality. The harvest by stripping coffee berries from the branches into a piece of cloth was the most used harvest process (83,67 percent); 66,33 percent of the coffee grovers washed the fruits before drying them and 61,23 percent adopted the mix dry method with the help of mechanical dryers. The present work indicated that the studied localities presented high scores concerned to structures and behaviors aiming the coffee beverage quality preservation and that higher scores correlated, generally, to higher levels of coffee drinkability.
