Effect of bavistin 50 WP and bordeaux mixture for the control of black rot and their impact on coffee yield

Effect of spraying carbendazim (Bavistin 50 WP) and Bordeaux mixture for the control of black rot and coffee yield has been discussed. Plants treateed with Bavistin (0.03 per cent a.i.) was significantly superior to Bordeaux mixture (1.0 per cent) for the control of black rot disease at both the locations. The mean of three years data showed 56 and 41 per cent of crop increase in Bavistin (0.03 per cent a.i.) and Bordeaux mixture (1.0 per cent) respectively over water sprayed control at location I, while 42 and 31 per cent crop increase was recorded at location II. Further, a crop increase of 10.0 per cent and 7.26 per cent was noticed in Bavistin (0.03 per cent a.i.) over Bordeaux mixture (1.0 per cent) at location I and II respectively. It was therefore concluded that two sprays of Bavistin (0.03 per cent a.i.) have beneficial effect in control of black rot and also marginal increase of coffee yield.
