Teste de germinacao em sementes de café (Coffea arabica L.)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of temperature, substrates and pre-imbebition treatments on the accomplishment of the standard germination test on coffee seeds. The substrates tested were: paper (RP), cloth (RO) and paper and cloth (RPO). The temperature used were: 30 and 35°C, with and without pre-imbebition of seeds in water during 15 h. Among the treatments tested, the temperature of 30°C provided the greatest number of normal seedlings. Under this temperature, there was no significant difference regarding the substrates tested. However, cloth shoud not be utilized as substrate since it provided the development of roots in between the cloth strands, making it difficult the evaluation of seedlings.
