Effect of exposure of nursery soil to sunlight on the control of collar rot of coffee

Nursery soil mixture exposed to sun light for varying length of time, controlled collar rot relatively to the period of exposure and germination of seeds to the time of exposure. Maximum control of disease and germination of seeds were observed in the treatment where soil mixture was exposed to solar light for 3 months. Out of the 3 arabica cultivars, S.795, Sin.9 and Cauvery selected to study the varietal interaction to the treatments, Cauvery responsed better compared to other cultivars recording significantly less collar-rot and better germination of seeds.
