Nutricao mineral e fertilizacao do cafeeiro

Correction of acidity, both in the topsoil and in the subsurface, and fertilization play a major role in coffee production. Rates of fertilizers applied have to take into consideration the needs for yield formation and the soil supplying capacity evaluated through soil and leaf analysis. To increase the efficiency of the fertilizers used it is as necessary to pay attention both to timing of application and placement; correction of deficiencies of micronutrients (B, Cu, and Zn, usually) is achieved through foliar sprays. Responses to application of N, P, K, Mg, S, B, Cu, Zn, lime and phosphogypsum have been obtained and examples thereof are given, as well as of interactions among elements
