Secagem de café (Coffea arabica L.) em leito de jorro
A continuous conical spouted bed dryer was built and tested. The air insufled by ventilator and heated by a set of five resistors passes through the wet grain mass in the drying chamber. The grains are pneumatically carried in the central zone forming a fountain of solids at the top and are moved by gravitational air force in the anular core. For the wet coffee flow rate of 455,5 kg/ha, air flow rate between 12,7 - 13,1 m3/min and temperature between 46-63°C, the following data were obtained: evaporated water rate, grain temperature, moisture reduction and coffee classification.
