Les problemes genetiques poses para l'hybridation interspecifique de Coffea arabica et Coffea canephora diploides ou tetraploides

Through the hybridisation C. arabica x tetraploid C. canephora is able to give strong hybrids called "Arabusta" for which the chromosomic pairing and the meiosis show some irregularities, there is a barrier between the Arabica and canephora genomes which can express itself at the level of the development of the built up hybrid. This development incompatibility may concern wholy or partly the progeny issued from the pollination of C. arabica by C. canephora T; it is linked to two genitors which are present. The same phenomenon occurs, but not so often, at the triploid level, when C. arabica is crossed with diploid C. canephora, and does not necessarily concern the same crossings. The comparison between the triploid and tetraploid "developped hybrids", issued from the same parents, shows a well equilibrated vegetative and floral behaviour in the triploids. The analysis of several "Arabusta" families built with different arabica genitors and one constant C. canephora T genitor show the important differential effects of the Arabica between them for the vegetative heterosis phenomenon observed in nurseries
