Variability in coffee, 2: Studies on flower number in species
Studies on number of inflorescence per node and number of flowers per inflorescence carried out during 1973 in species at Central Coffee Research Institute is reported. The trends noticed are that bigger size of the plant is correlated with high flower number. C. canephora and C. liberica manifested the highest number and thereby indicated that, these serve as superior parents for exploiting this character in any breeding programme
