Seed-borne fungi of coffee
Twenty six fungi representing different genera were isolated from the seeds of Coffea arabica L. var. Arusha. Mere number of fungi were isolated from the seeds with parchment than those removed of their parchment. Geotrichum candidum and Fusarium solani occurred in greater proportion than the other fungi. During seed germination on moist filter paper, these two fungi infected and killed the embryo, and such seeds failed to germinate
