Contribuicao ao estudo de Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari, 1867)

In the present paper, hydrated alcohol traps captured 112 insects of the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei. The fungus Beauveria bassiana was introduced inside the traps and showed 100 percent of efficiency to the insects studied. After 15 days, samples of the microorganism, maintained the spores with 98 percent of germination. Laboratory bio-assays showed that suspensions of the fungus inoculated on berries caused 90 percent of mortality of insects. Two artificial diets were tested for rearing Hypothenemus hampei
