Smallholder coffee in Kenya - a recipe for success

The smallholder coffee has been a recipe for success in Kenya because coffee is carefully looked after from establishment, production to marketing. Another source of success has been due to the coffee farmers' interest in research activities including themselves paying for research from coffee proceeds. Finally, Kenya's method of selling coffee through weekly auctions ensure that the smallholder coffee grower gets the correct price obtained from the coffee sales
