Impact of coffee on improving socio-economic conditions of tribals

A scheme for the development of coffee plantations by Indian tribes was launched in 1972 to improve their economic status by providing seedlings, fertilizers and other assistance. Case histories of several tribesmen who began to cultivate coffee are presented, and indicate the scheme to be a success. (ICO. Library Monthly Entries no.107:8. 1989)
