La diversité de réponses paysannes au projet de rénovation de la caféiere et de la cacaoyere Togolaises

The process of restrospective evaluation of a development project should be broader than a simple economic comparison between a reference point and a post-project situation. The process here proposed for the renovation of the coffee and cacao plantations exemplifies the intention of carrying out studies in order to understand the farmers' varios answers to outside-intervention. This implies considering successively how the plantation economy has structured the rural society before the project; how the project plant of action has been set up; and what results have been obtained and interpreted by those in charge of the project.
