Compatibility and bioefficacy of three synthetic pyrethroid insecticides with bordeaux mixture
Studies were carried out on the physical compatibility and bioefficacy of Ambusch 50 EC, Permasect 25 EC and Sumicidin 20 EC with neutral and alkaline Bordeaux mixture. Observations were made on rate of settling of Bordeaux mixture and colour changes that occurred when the insecticides were added. The bioefficacy was assessed using Coccus viridis. Ambush was more effective than Permasect or Sumicidin. Ambush could be safety mixed with neutral Bordeaux and Permasect with alkaline Bordeaux; but the bioefficacy was reduced when Ambush was used with alkaline Bordeaux and Permasect with neutral Bordeaux. Sumicidin was safe with both alkaline and neutral Bordeaux
