In a field trial in 1973-82 at Analandia, weeds in a coffee plantation on a latosol were controlled using a) a disc harrow, b) a rotary cultivator, c) an offset rotary shredder, d) herbicide or e) hand hoeing. The mean diam. of the soil aggregates over 9 years was a) 0.30, b) 0.36, c) 0.47, d) 0.31 and e) 0.38 ¿m, c) being significantly the highest.
