Los 6 híbridos de Coffea arabica y cuatro híbridos interespecíficos estudiados cuajaron todos bajo cruzamientos de polinización natural (con emasculación), aunque en menor grado que en la autofecundación. Un tetraploide expontáneo S2464 proveniente de un diploide estéril F1 de C. liberica x C. eugenioides, fue compatible tanto en sus progenitores diploides, como compatible con él mismo.
