Yongchak as shade tree
The utilization of yongchak (Parkia roxburghii) a leguminosous tree of 12-18 m, as a shade plant in coffee plantations is discussed. The tree produces protein rich seeds, which are used in medicine against stomach disorders. The not durable wood is used for temporary constructions such as boxes, fuelwood and as a source of paper-pulp. (ATA 12(5):58914. 1987)
