Colletotrichum spp. isolated from Coffea arabica L. in Kenya
A number of Colletotrichum species invading all parts of the coffee tree differ morphologically in cultural characters only. In most cases Colletotrichum-isolates from Coffea arabica L. proved to be conidial states of Glomerella cingulata (Stonem.) Spauld & Schrenk. The causal fungus of Coffee Berry Disease, Colletotrichum coffeanum Noack, can be placed as well close to Glomerella cingulata, though it does not form perithecia in vitro. In high altitude coffee growing areas Colletotrichum acutatum Simmonds was of common occurrence
