Collaborative study of a method for the determination of caffeine in nonalcoholic beverages

A spectrochromatographic procedure for the determination of caffeine based upon modifications of the original Levine procedure was subjected to a collaborative study. Recoveries were generally better than 90. The results indicate that the method is accurate for the determination of caffeine in nonalcoholic beverages. It is recommended that the method be adopted as official, first action
