Stimulierung des austrebeins sekundared knospen bei kaffeesamlingen durch wachstumsregulatoren
All trials have shown that in coffe (Coffea arabica L.) the apical dominance of the terminal bud is very strong and prevents the sprouting of serial buds. After removal of the apical bud, the sprouting buds in the axils of the uppermost leaf pair become dominant so that none of the serial buds at lower nodes are able to sprout. Ten growth regulators were tested for their ability to induce sprouting of dormant serial buds on coffee seedlings. Triiodobenzoic acid (TIBA), Alanap-3, morphactin CME 73170 P, ethephon, dicamba, benzyladenine (BA), 2-chloroethyl-trimethylammonium chloride (CCC) and 2,2-dimethylamino-succinamic acid (B-9) significantly increased the number of orthotropic side shoots. Decapitation increased this effect considerably, in some cases removal of the main-shoot tip was necessary to obtain a positive response. The best results gave the treatment with TIBA; the concentration of 400 mg/l is recommended at which the largest number of cuttings from one plant were obtained. Gibberellin (GS) and naphthylacetic acid (NAA) did not break the apical dominance in coffee. Most growth regulators increased the number of orthotropic side shoots more in the var. nana than in cv. Bourbon
