Persistence of copper in spray deposits on leaves during natural weathering

Effect of weathering on the persistenc of copper in the spray deposits of copper oxychloride, and neutral and alkaline Bordeaux mixtures sprayed with 4 types of spray machines is reported. Spray deposits of copper oxychloride lost copper rapidly during natural weathering in the field. Between alkaline and neutral Bordeaux mixtures loss of copper was slow in thr former. After 90 days of weathering the total copper retained in spray deposits on coffee leaves was 20 in copper oxychloride, 35 in neutral Bordeaux mixture and 51 in alkaline Bordeaux mixture. Among the 4 types of spray machines, Sapperlot deposited more copper on the leaf surface. During weathering the loss of copper was slow from the spray deposits of Maruti foot pump
