Herbicidal control of weeds and its effect on growth and yield of coffee

Application of gramoxone and its combinations with Simazine and Karmex did not produce any adverse effect on mean number of nodes and primaries per plant, girth of main stem, spread of the bush, yield and fruit weight. On the contrary, they produced beneficial effect when compared to manual weeding due to more efficient weed control. Karmex + SNID, however, affected the girth, spread of the bush and yield of coffee due to persistence of "lawn grass" (Cynodon dactylon Pers.)
