Studies on Colletotrichum coffeanum in India, 2: Cultural studies and the factors affecting spore germination

Cultural behaviour on different media, effect of temperature on the growth and sporulation, conidial germination of Colletotrichum coffeanum are discussed. Oatmeal agar is found to be a more suitable medium for growth and sporulation. Optimum range of temperature for growth, sporulation and conidial germination is from 20ð to 30ðC. Germination and appressorium formation are greatly reduced below 20ðC and above 30ðC
