Rapport

Coffee is widely grown in various parts of Nigeria. The two main types are C. arabica and C. canephora. The production of this crop has not expanded appreciably largely because of lack of organised marketing for the produce in the Southern parts of Nigeria where the bulk of coffee produced in the country is grown. With the recent establishement of the Cocoa Commodity Board charged with the marketing of cocoa, coffee and tea throughout Nigeria, and with the introdution of uniform producer prices for the same type of coffee all over the country, it is expected that farmers would rehabilitate their old farms, and perhaps establis new ones leading to an overall increased production
