Prediction of available K, entractable K, and quantity - intensity parameters in relation to K uptake by coffee seedlings
A pot culture experiment was carried out with coffee, maize and bajra as test crops, to find out the relation between the extratable K in soils growth to coffee and K uptake. All the extractants tried were found on par in predicting the available K. Application of the paramenters of Beckett's Quantity-Intensity relation to predict K availability indicated that the activity ration (ARk) and Potential Buffering Capacity (PBC) were not helpful; but - Kð and K-potential values were positively correlated with K uptake by the crops
