Contribution a l'etude des maladies a filaments blanes en basse Cote-D'Ivoire

A study of "white thread blights" has been performed in forest Ivory Coast. Symptoms of the disease have been described, mainly on coffee, cocoa and mango-tree. Eight isolates were obtained in pure culture, three belonging to the species Marasmius scandens and four to a sterile species of Marasmius, different from M. scandens and characterized by special organs called "anker-cells". Inoculations on leaves showed that Marasmius scandens was a purely epiphytic fungus while Marasmius sp. was an active pathogen. Presence of Corticium koleroga, which had been pointed out by previous studies, has not been confirmed
