Capacidade de Crinipellis permiciosa produzir basidiósporos viáveis em vassouras com tres anos de idade e de infectar tecidos do cacaueiro com gemas dormentes
Observations on the influence of the age of cocoa brooms on the sporulation of Crinipellis perniciosa showed that in three year-old plants, the fungus formed basidiocarps and the basidiospores were pathogenic to cocoa. The promycelium was able to penetrate in mature tissues, of dormant buds and to develop a mycelium which remains dormant in this tissue. After the formation of new growth, the tissue will be infected by the mycelium which is present in the mature areas.
