Efeito de adubacoes do substrato e foliar na formacao de mudas de cacau (Theobroma cacao L.)

The objective of this work was to compare the effects of mineral and organic fertilizers applied to the substrate (soil) and foliar application of nutrients on the development of cocoa seedlings. The commercially available product "Hiper Humus" was used as an organic fertilizer at the rate of 50 kg/m3 of soil; mineral fertilization consisted of simple superphosphate and potassium cloride applied at the rate of 2.5 kg and 0.5 kg per cubic meter of soil, respectively. The commercial product "Wuxal" (9-9-7 formulation) was used for foliar application at the concentration of 2 percent. Comparisons amongst treatments were done based on seedling development characteristics. The results obtained indicated that "Hiper Humus" inhibited the increase of root dry matter weight as well as total dry matter weight of the seedlings. No effect could be atributed to foliar fertilization.
