Observations on the effects of Gilberellic acid on the growth of cocoa seedlings
The effects of foliar sprays of gilberellic acid solution on the growth of cocoa seedlings were observed for twelve weeks. Observations on leaf area, leaf number and dry weights of stem and leaves indicated that Gilberellic acid exerted significant growth promoting effects only on plant height, the differences in the other observations being insignificant. It appeared that the full effect of the chemical persisted only for about four weeks.
