Yield prediction of cocoa based on soil survey and land evaluation in Sabah on sedimentary soils - a case study
The success of yield prediction based on soil surveys should be fully exploited to reduce investment risk. Agromanagement is important for improving yield in a particular soil situation. An appraisal of available experimental results within and out side Malaysia can serve as a guide for manuring policy especially when the important pedological properties are understood. To that end, soil maps at various scales to serve specific objectives should be produced for most, if not all, the cocoa growing area.
