Cocoa: a summary of some recent and current experience, and some suggested specifications for trials on inland soils in Kelantan
These notes were prepared for the information and guidance of State Land Development Board personnel who might be involved in carrying out some pilot trials in Kelantan. They were compiled mainly from data presented and discussions held at the International Conference on Cocoa and Coconuts, held in Kuala Lumpur in June 1978, sponsored by the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) and the Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP). The author's own experiences with some of the early trials during the fifties and with some current cocoa trials in Kelantan are included. The notes could be of interest to others who wish to try cocoa on inland soils in Peninsular Malaysia.
