Avaliacao de piretróides sintéticos no controle de Hoplophorion pertusum Germar (Homoptera: Membracidae), praga do cacaueiro na Bahia

Field trials were carried out to evaluate the efficacy of synthetic pyrethroids in the control of Hoplophorion pertusum a pest of cacao plantation in Bahia, Brazil. The results showed that population densities varied from 381 to 1,526 insects per tree. Efficacies of Decis (decamethrine) at the dosages of 5, 7.5 and 10 g a.i/ha were 98, 97 and 90 percent respectively, 48 hours after spraying. Efficacies of Pounce (permethrine) at the dosages of 100, 125 and 150 g a.i/ha were 97, 99 and 98 percent respectively, 24 hours after application. Efficacies of Belmark (fenvalerate) at the dosages of 50, 100 and 150 g a.i./ha were 97, 97 and 99 percent respectively, 24 hour after spraying. The results of an experiment which was undertaken to compare the pyrethroids showed that efficacies of Decis (5 g a.i/ha), Pounce (50 g a.i/ha) and Belmark (50 g a.i/ha) were 98, 98 and 96 percent respectively, 24 hours after spraying.
